Following a successful kickoff of its 2026 season in Pretoria, South Africa, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) will take its second African event of the season to Lagos, Nigeria, on Saturday, June 13.

Described as the largest MMA event in West African history, the fight night will feature the opening rounds of the PFL Africa bantamweight and lightweight tournaments, alongside showcase bouts highlighting top regional talent.

Cameroon’s Octave “The Bantu Warrior” Ayinda is set to make his return against Nigeria’s Patrick “Star Boi” Ocheme, as both fighters chase their first-ever lightweight semifinal spots. The two competed in the inaugural PFL Africa season, with Ayinda fighting in the welterweight division and Ocheme in the featherweight category—both falling at the semifinal stage.

While Ocheme will look to capitalize on home advantage as he begins his campaign, Ayinda enters as a determined challenger aiming to secure a statement victory in the opening round.

In the main event, reigning PFL Africa 2025 featherweight champion Wasi “The Nigerian Jaguar” Adeshina of Nigeria will square off against Spain’s Ignacio “Nacho” Campos in a high-profile showcase bout.

The hometown star is among the standout local athletes on the card and will be eager to deliver a strong performance as PFL Africa lands in Nigeria for the first time. Campos, meanwhile, comes into the fight on the back of an impressive victory over Mathys Duragrin at PFL Madrid last month.

In a statement, the PFL said additional bouts will be announced once matchups are finalized in the coming weeks, with fans already anticipating the inclusion of more Cameroonian fighters on the card.

PFL Africa General Manager Elias Schulze described the promotion’s debut event in West Africa as “a major milestone,” expressing excitement about the organisation’s expansion into Nigeria.

“Nigeria brings incredible passion, culture, and talent, and Lagos is the perfect stage for this moment,” Schulze said.

“The energy from the fans, the depth of local talent, and the opportunity to showcase it all on a global platform make this event truly special. We’re bringing elite competition to one of the most vibrant cities in the world, while highlighting the pride, colour, and intensity that define African MMA.”
