Cameroonian heavyweight puncher, Maxwell Djantou Nana, has stepped away from the Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa circuit and returned to the global stage. Nana, who was part of the inaugural PFL Africa tournament, is set to face American fighter Karl Williams at PFL Global Sioux Falls on May 2, 2026, at the Sanford Pentagon in the United States.

Known as “Leonidas,” Nana, 35, is a Manchester Top Team trainee and boasts a professional fighting record of seven wins and two losses, with most of his victories coming via technical knockouts (TKO).

The 1.88-meter-tall Cameroonian, who weighs 119 kg, defeated American Kent Mafileo in his debut PFL fight in 2024 before joining the promotion’s Africa League roster a year later.

In his PFL Africa debut, Nana defeated Mickael Groguhe of Cote d’Ivoire during the inaugural PFL Africa heavyweight playoffs. However, his run was halted in the semifinals by South Africa’s Justin Clarke, preventing him from advancing to the finals.

The inaugural PFL Africa semifinalist now returns to PFL Global seeking redemption after an unsuccessful continental title bid.

On Nana’s way across the cage is Karl Williams, who holds a professional record of 10 wins and five losses, and has gone winless in his last four fights.

The 36-year-old American Top Team Atlanta trainee from the U.S. Virgin Islands will be aiming to end his victory drought and improve his record as he gloves up against Nana.

Williams is yet to secure a win inside the PFL SmartCage since his debut with the promotion in May last year. He has fought twice since then, most recently on February 6 this year, where he was submitted by the United Arab Emirates’ Pouya Rahmani at PFL Dubai.

Headlining PFL Sioux Falls, interim Bellator MMA welterweight titlist Logan Storley takes on PFL Europe champion Florim Zendeli in the main event.
