Prominent journalist and women’s rights advocate Comfort Mussa, popularly known as Commy Mussa has been appointed DearYou Ambassador for Cameroon as The DEAR Foundation Switzerland expands its global women’s health awareness initiative to Central Africa.

The Foundation utilizes its free, multilingual mobile application, DearYou, to promote breast cancer awareness and facilitate early detection, particularly in underserved communities.

A multi-award-winning journalist and Executive Director of women-focused platform Sisterspeak237, Commy Mussa is expected to amplify the campaign through media engagements, participation in public events, and facilitating community conversations that encourage women to access reliable health information and strengthen their health literacy.

In a statement announcing the journalist’s appointment on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the organization said the collaboration marks an important step in DearYou’s expanding presence in Central Africa, where trusted local voices play a crucial role in fostering informed dialogue about women’s health.

It noted that Cameroon’s bilingual environment and strong media networks offer meaningful opportunities to share accessible health information through culturally grounded communication channels.

“Our collaboration with Comfort Mussa reflects our commitment to supporting women with respectful, accessible information while recognizing and strengthening existing community leadership,” The DEAR Foundation Switzerland said in the statement.

The new DearYou Ambassador for Cameroon said access to trustworthy health information is essential for women’s dignity and autonomy. “DearYou’s approach aligns closely with the realities women face in Cameroon, where dialogue, trust, and cultural sensitivity are fundamental,” Commy Mussa said.

According to the The DEAR Foundation Switzerland, DearYou’s activities in Cameroon will grow gradually through voluntary, Ambassador-led engagement. These activities will include media engagement through radio, television, print, and online platforms, participation in Women’s Month events and women-focused conferences, community conversations facilitated through existing local and regional networks and dissemination of informational resources and promotion of the DearYou mobile application.

The activities, the Foundation has underscored, are meant to compliment and not replace the work of individuals or organizations already active in women’s health, education, and empowerment.

DearYou is currently active across Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Asia through its network of volunteer Ambassadors and institutional partners, contributing to awareness efforts within their own communities and professional networks.
