The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh has praised the efforts of the General Manager of Cameroon Telecommunications, (CAMTEL), Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi in making the state-owned company a leader in digital transformation in the country and reference in the sub region.

Ngoh Ngoh was speaking during a visit at the eye-catchy duplex house-like CAMTEL stand at the 9th edition of the International Exhibition for Enterprises, SMEs, and Partnerships of Yaounde dubbed PROMOTE 2024 on Friday February 23.

The VIP guest was treated to a VIP reception with the General Manager of CAMTEL herself being the tour guide as she took the guest through the various sections of the VIP stand, explaining the company’s vision and strides to President Paul Biya’s administrative assistant.

Ngoh Ngoh nodded his head repeatedly as Judith Yah walked him through CAMTEL’s network infrastructure maps connecting Cameroon and interconnecting the country to neighboring countries and to the rest of the world.

After keenly listening to the sagely explanations, a visibly marveled Ngoh Ngoh then congratulated Judith Yah Sunday.

“Congratulations Madam the General Manager. Your stand is impressive and your work is highly appreciated,” Ngoh Ngoh said to the CAMTEL General Manager before leaving the VIP stand of the institution.

CAMTEL stole the show at the nine-day multi-sectoral exhibition fair that brought together over a thousand enterprises and businesses from 30 countries in the sub region, Africa, Asia and Europe at the esplanade of the Yaounde Conference Center.
Ngoh Ngoh was just one of the thousands of visitors who were attracted to CAMTEL’s stand by the telecom giant’s products and services on exhibition.

The Three entities of CAMTEL, Business Unit Mobile, Business Unit Fixed and Business Unit Transport that offer unique solutions to the communication needs of individuals and businesses of all sizes were a point of attraction to numerous visitors at the telecom firm’s stand.

Francis Ajumane Akam, Research Officer at the Corporate Communications Unit of CAMTEL told reporters when the fair officially opened on Monday February 19 that the company hoped to make a great incursion into the mobile telecom market with the business Unit Mobile and its flagship product, BLUE.

“CAMTEL has as ambition to control a lion’s share of the telecom market with its flagship product, BLUE which came into the market in 2021. That is why we see PROMOTE 2024 as an opportunity to grow our market,” Ajumane said.

The 2024 edition of PROMOTE, the biggest platform for business promotion and business partnerships in the Sub region held under the theme: “Private Sector, Evolution and Structural Transformation of African Economies” and spanned February 17 – 25.
