Cameroonian mixed martial arts prospect Styve Ngono has issued a strong warning to his opponent ahead of their Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa showdown in Lagos, Nigeria, next month.

Known by the cage name “The Revolution,” Ngono will face Nigeria’s Richard Muzaan, popularly called “The Shield,” in a Light Heavyweight Showcase bout at the Eko Convention Centre on Saturday, June 13.

The fight card will feature opening-round matchups in the PFL Africa Bantamweight and Lightweight tournaments, as well as showcase bouts featuring some of Africa’s top emerging MMA talents.

In a video message shared on social media, Ngono said he respects Muzaan but stressed that he is heading into the contest determined to secure victory and raise the Cameroon flag inside the PFL SmartCage at the Eko Hotel.

“For my opponent, Muzaan, he is a big dude and a good opponent…Muzaan, I know you are the Shield of Nigeria, but know that the Lion of Cameroon is coming to break the shield,” Ngono declared.

The Lagos contest will mark Ngono’s second appearance on a PFL Africa card. The rising fighter, who holds a professional record of seven wins and one defeat, has also faced notable opponents outside the PFL cage.

A pressure-based fighter known for his aggressive style, Ngono enters the bout on a five-fight winning streak. His most recent victory came in December 2025, when he earned a unanimous decision win over Ivorian fighter Meledje Yedoh during his PFL Africa debut in the Republic of Benin.

Ngono’s journey into professional MMA has been unconventional. From competing without financial backing in Cameroon to wrestling on the beaches of Morocco before eventually signing with the PFL through Black Panther Management, the former national Sambo champion has steadily risen through the ranks.

Ngono is one of four Cameroonian fighters on the landmark 13-fight card, which includes elite fighters from Africa, Europe, and South America. He joins compatriots Octave Ayinda, known as “The Bantu Warrior,” Alain Majorique, nicknamed “The African Assassin,” and debutant Jordan Fongno.

The PFL Lagos event will be headlined by a Featherweight Showcase bout between Nigeria’s Wasi “The Nigerian Jaguar” Adeshina and Spain’s Ignacio “Nacho” Campos.
