The candidate of the opposition Social Democratic Front, SDF, for the October 12 Presidential election. Hon. Joshua Osih  has said the consultation is a window for citizens to reclaim the country’s stolen future.

Osih made the declaration in a recent message issued shortly after Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, validated his candidacy for the election. Hon Osih who is also National Chairman of the SDF said the election requires collective effort to achieve victory.  “It’s the cry of a people who have waited too long,” he stated.

He added that youth unemployment, inadequate health facilities, stigmatization, and financial instability for those with blue and white collar jobs among other challenges need to be addressed.

Osih advised those calling for the secession of the  English-speaking  Regions from the  rest of the country to embrace a new era of change.

While acknowledging the decades-long pain of  “marginalization, broken promises and forced silence”, Osih said his candidacy is offering them “a new path.”

He appealed to Cameroonians to take their responsibility to ensure that  this “moment marks the beginning of a new era—where we do not need to fight with guns, but with ballots.

“…Where we do not seek separation, but recognition, respect, and justice within a nation rebuilt on truth and equality”.

Appealed to aspirants whose files were rejected to join forces with the SDF to build a united front that can deliver Cameroonians from the grip of the Biya regime.

“This is our time. Let us rise—from Bamenda to Maroua, from Buea to Bertoua. Let us march not in fear, but with hope. Let us take back Cameroon—for the people, by the people and with the people,” Osih noted.

With the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC), which came second in the previous election, now out of the race, many said  the SDF might want to seize the opportunity to beat Biya if Kamto is eventually  knocked out of the race.
