Cameroon international Jackson Tchatchoua has joined Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old defender joins Woves from Serie A outfit Hellas Verona in a deal worth 12.5 million euros (over FCFA eight billion), according to independent Italian sports journalist and influencer Fabrizio Romano.

Fabrizio who specializes in news about football transfers break the news on Monday.

Although Tchatchoua managed to score two goals and assist three more last season, he stood out in the Italian top flight as the fastest player, recording a speed of 36.3km/h.

This profile suits the Premier League where speed and physicality are not only crucial but also indispensable.

After suffering a huge 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in their opening Premier League game on Saturday, Wolves need top quality players to compete in the English top division, especially following the sale of their prolific scorer Mathews Cunha to Manchester United.

Tchatchoua, who made his debut for the Indomitable Lions in a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in June 2024, will thus be a key player for Coach Marc Brys in the remaining qualifiers and the Africa Cup Nations in Morocco come December.

He joins Manchester United duo of Bryan Mbeumo and Andre Onana and Brighton’s sensation, Carlos Baleba, in the most competitive league in Europe.
