Cameroonian mixed martial artist Octave Ayinda has sent a strong warning to Nigerian opponent Patrick Ocheme ahead of their fight at the Professional Fighters League, PFL Africa in Lagos, Nigeria next month.
Following a successful 2026 season opener in Pretoria, South Africa, in April, PFL Africa will next head to Lagos, Nigeria, on Saturday, June 13, with a 13-fight card.
The event at the Eko Convention Centre will feature opening-round matchups in the PFL Africa Bantamweight and Lightweight tournaments, as well as showcase bouts featuring some of the continent’s top emerging talents.
Known as “The Bantu Warrior”, Ayinda will clash with Ocheme, who goes by the cage name “Star Boi” in the Lightweight Tournament bout as both fighters begin their quest for the championship belt and $100,000 prize money.

In a video message posted on social media, Ayinda has dismissed Ocheme’s chances of victory, insisting the Nigerian fighter “won’t survive” inside the cage.
Ayinda, who appeared calm and confident in the clip, said he had closely followed his opponent’s fights in the past but believes Ocheme lacks the skills to stop him when they meet on June 13.
“After my training session, I come here and spend a bit of time, like one or two hours, watching my opponent [Patrick Ocheme]’s previous fights,” Ayinda said in the video.
From his opponent’s previous performances, Ayinda sounded confident that the Cameroonian flag would be raised in the cage when they meet.
“It is going to be crazy when we meet because I don’t see this guy being able to survive my strength. Yeah, he’s not going to survive,” Ayinda declared.
The fight is expected to be one of the standout contests on the PFL Africa card in Lagos, as both fighters seek to make a statement on the continent’s growing MMA stage.
Ayinda heads into the bout carrying Cameroon’s hopes in the lightweight division, while Ocheme will enjoy home support in Nigeria as he looks to halt the Cameroonian’s momentum.
Ayinda is one of four Cameroonian fighters on the PFL Nigeria card. Besides the PFL Africa 2025 semifinalists, Cameroonian fans will also watch other fighters, including PFL Africa 2025 finalist Alain “The African Assassin” Majorique and rising stars like Styve “The Revolution” Ngono and Jordan Fongno.
