Celebrating a quarter-century of operations in Cameroon recently, leading telecommunications company, Orange Cameroun was not just celebrating 25 years of connectivity but also the people who make this possible.
During the 6th edition of its Work Honor Medals Award Ceremony held at the Sawa Culture Palace in Bonanjo, Douala, Orange Cameroun honoured nearly one-third of its employees for their long-term dedication and professional excellence. The event also marked the Silver Jubilee of the telco’s operations in the Cameroon.

Placed under the aegis of the Minister of Labour and Social Security, the event served as a tribute to the staff who have fueled the telecom leader’s growth with 252 of its 770 employees receiving distinctions.
Awardees included seasoned staff for their seniority and rising stars for fresh innovation and impact with 27 Gold Medalists recognizing over 25 years of service, 84 Sterling Silver Medals to outstanding staff with over 15 years of commitment and some 163 staff members who were awarded Silver Medals for over 10 years of professional excellence.
Spotlight on emerging talent
Beyond seniority, the distinctions recognized exemplary professionalism, loyalty to the company, and tangible impact on Orange Cameroun’s growth and customer satisfaction, highlighting “rising stars,” such as Media Activation Specialist Ngameni Ngounou Lauriane.
The Media Communication and Communication Management Expert was awarded a Silver Medal for significant impact since taking up the role in 2023. The University of Douala alumna—and former journalist—has been highly influential in driving the company’s media relations.

Having recently earned the “O Champions” – an Orange Cameroun internal employee recognition award certificate for exceeding performance targets, Lauriane exemplifies the high standard of professionalism the firm continues to cultivate and represents the new generation of women leaders driving corporate communication forward.
The ceremony brought together company executives, staff representatives, and institutional partners. By reinforcing a culture of recognition and cohesion, Orange Cameroun aims to solidify its position as an employer of choice as it moves into 2026, ready to tackle new technological and commercial milestones.
