Undefeated Cameroonian Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) star, Octave Ayinda (5-0), will be in action when the MMA global powerhouse, Professional Fighters League (PFL), returns to South Africa for the second leg of the maiden PFL Africa tournament in August.

The second PFL Africa fight night will take place at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City in Johannesburg, South Africa on August 9, 2025, featuring top MMA talents from across the continent in the race to become the first-ever PFL Africa Champions.

Top African stars will compete in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions. Among the newly announced bouts, Octave Ayinda who is known as “The Bantu Warrior” will strive to continue his unbeaten record when he faces Democratic Republic of Congo’s British Boloyang (3-1) in a Welterweight First Round matchup.

Another bout in the division will see Burkina Faso’s Sanon Sadeck (7-2) square off against Yabna N’tchala (11-2-1) of Guinea-Bissau in a battle of West African stars.

In the Featherweight division, Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina (7-3) will take on DRC’s Jean Jacques Lubaya (9-1), while South Africa’s undefeated Elbert Steyn (3-0) steps into the PFL SmartCage against Morocco’s Abderahman Errachidy (4-1).

NewsWatch had earlier reported that the second PFL Africa fight night in Johannesburg will be headlined by two of the best West African MMA athletes; Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (6-1) who will clash with Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1) in a Featherweight First Round bout. In the co-main event, Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1), who was victorious in his PFL debut, returns to action against Gambia’s Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in a Welterweight First Round bout.

In a statement on Monday, June 30, PFL said other matchups will be announced subsequently.

“The Bantu Warrior” brings to four, the number of Cameroonian MMA stars already confirmed to take part in the first-ever global MMA event to be hosted on the African soil.

Three other Cameroonians — Maxwell Djantou Nana, Jashell Ticha Awa and Alain Majorique — are already locked in for a showdown at the inaugural PFL Africa event set for Cape Town next month.

In all, 32 top fighters representing 15 African countries will compete in 2025 PFL Africa tournament in four different divisions as the league embarks on a continent-wide journey to crown the first-ever PFL Africa Champions – opening even bigger doors for them to compete on the global stage with PFL’s goal to create the “Champions League of MMA”.
