The coach of Elite One side, Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda, Akosemoh Theodore has stepped down after reportedly falling out with the club’s president, Emma Mimba.

Reports say the coach was not satisfied with Mimba’s decision to suspend his assistant and goalkeeper trainer Kome Thomas.

Kome Thomas is quoted as having revealed to North West Football Cameron that he refused to make changes at half time as instructed by the club president in the game pitting YOSA against Aigle Royale du Moungo in Melong. The match ended in a virgin draw on Sunday, March 2.

However, in his resignation letter dated same day, Theodore refuses to disclose the reasons for his resignation.

“It is rather unfortunate that I cannot continue as head of the technical bench for reasons best known to me that I have decided not to make public,” the letter reads in part.

YOSA sit at the bottom of the MTN Elite One table after picking just seven points in their first thirty games of the season.

Nevertheless, the outgoing coach remains confident that his former side can still stagger out of the red zone, especially with the quality of players they have.

“I still have the conviction that given that the league is still open and there are still two matches before the end of the first round, YOSA still has 90% chances to be maintained in the Cameroon professional Ligue, given the cream of players we have,” Akosemoh writes.

This comes less than a week after the President of Victoria United Football Club Valentine Nkwain was slammed a ban and a fine of FCFA 10 million by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT). The FA’s homologation and discipline committee imposed the sanction on the Limbe-based businessman after he was found guilty of misconduct towards match officials after a game between his club and Dynamo of Douala.

While waiting for the outcome of the torture and illegal detention allegations of three of his players, Nkwain is obliged to stay away from all football-related activities, per the ban.

The Limbe-based business tycoon reportedly manhandled his goalkeeper and two other players for days after suspecting them of match fixing. He was reportedly frowning at his club’s four losses in a row.

Investigations are underway, according to media reports.
