The Managing Director of Yaounde-based architecture, design, and planning firm Roarchi-Tech, Rocar Nganji has quit bachelorhood. He tied the nuptial bond with his sweetheart, Carine Gije at a heavily attended wedding service at the Patmos Baptist church, Jouvance in Yaounde on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

The church was filled to the brim with guests of Rocar and Carine who had come to witness the third and last stage of their journey into matrimony. Melodious voices of choristers of the music ministry of Patmos Baptist church thrilled early birds.

Then, a black land cruiser prado, adorned for the occasion, cruised into premises of the magnificent church building designed by Rocar. And it was the groom, the architect dressed in a navy blue suit who stepped out of the car in the company of his assistant (Best Man).

The arrival of a luxurious Toyota Grand Highlander and whistle sounds minutes later then signaled the arrival of the bride who was draped in immaculate white gown. In the company of maid of honour (Best Woman), she takes her seat besides the glowing groom.

Done deal, Rocar and Carine are now husband and wife

In his sermon, Pastor Edwin Musa told the story of God creating the first man and woman, and establishing marriage as a lifelong commitment between them.

Musa who Rocar was assistant (Best Man) at his wedding in same church three years ago called on his “special adviser” to  make his marriage successful by ensuring God is at the centre of everything they do. He drew inspiration from the book of Genesis 2:15-25.

“It is important that your marriage is tailored in the ways of God,” Pastor Musa advised. “You have the responsibility to make your marriage successful and you can only build a successful marriage in God’s vineyard, for there is no way God is present in a marriage when the couple does not have God in their lives”.

The church was in a joyous mode during the solemnization led by church pastor, the Reverend Dr Philemon Nfor. He said he was aware the traditional and civil wedding ceremonies had taken place, the latter which he was present, and thus it was needless for him to be asking if there was any objection from the congregation

In their vows, the groom wished to spend the rest of his life with his sweetheart till the second coming of Jesus of Christ. This apparently went deep into the heart of the bride who responded: “The architect of my heart…I am yours always and forever,” sending congregants to their feet.

Then Rocar and Carine appended their signatures on a document which gives them the title of husband and wife; that is the marriage certificate of the church. Handing the certificate, church elder Eugene Nforngwa explained that unlike civil rule where the two sign separate certificates, in church they sign a single certificate as the two have become one.

Now joined in holy matrimony, Rocar and Carine then left the church as husband and wife inviting their guests for a sumptuous reception in a banquet hall reserved for the latest couple in town.
